Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı (TPAO) was established in 1954 on behalf of the public to carry out hydrocarbon exploration, drilling, production, refinery and marketing activities. Since its establishment until 1983, it has been operating in many areas of the sector as an integrated oil company. With the legal regulations made in 1983, it focused its activities on hydrocarbon exploration and production projects.

TPAO has achieved many "firsts" in Turkey's oil sector and brought 17 major institutions such as PETKİM, TÜPRAŞ and PETROL OFİSİ to the country's economy in more than half a century. With the goal of "Independent Turkey in Energy", it is rapidly implementing projects that ensure sustainable growth by ensuring sustainable growth by prioritizing the environment and environmentally sensitive and domestic technology in all links of the value chain on a global scale.
