South Africa to Showcase Upstream Investment Potential at Africa Energies Summit
We are delighted to confirm the participation of a senior delegation from the South Africa at the Africa Energies Summit 2026, led by Dr Bongani Sayidini - Chief Executive Officer, Petroleum Agency SA.
🇿🇦 As a country that stands out as one of Africa’s most credible, if still evolving, upstream jurisdictions, South Africa combines many of the fundamentals investors look for: a transparent regulatory framework, strong institutions and rule of law, and access to high-impact frontier geology - particularly offshore.
The Orange Basin, extending from Namibia into South African waters, has become one of the most closely watched exploration plays globally, with discoveries in the basin reshaping perceptions of the region’s potential.
At the same time, progress has not been without challenge. Regulatory complexity, environmental scrutiny and above-ground risks have slowed momentum at times and created uncertainty around timelines and delivery. The combination of world-class subsurface potential and a maturing, increasingly tested regulatory environment is forcing a more disciplined, investable model to emerge.
At a time when capital is highly selective, jurisdictions that can offer both geological upside and institutional credibility remain firmly in play. South Africa continues to demonstrate that it is open for investment.
We look forward to welcoming the delegation to London this May as part of the Africa Energies Summit’s senior gathering of governments, NOCs and international investors.
